Dave: "Addy, can I have a hug?"
Me: "Uh, I guess..."
Dave: "Awwww, my little ferret." (Wierd? I thought so too.)
Ok so, sorry about 2 posts in one day, but I JUST saw something on TV that really really upset me. I was watching TV in hopes of just mellowing out a bit, when I come across this 20/20 news show dealie. I see on the headline, "THE DANGERS OF CYBERPORN", and obviously this interests me a bit, as it would almost anyone. So I keep watching, and by the end of the segment, I'm so upset by these stories I hear, I'm nearly in tears just sitting on my couch. Here's a few points that I saw.
-9 out of 10 males are secretly addicted to cyberporn
-The addictions can start as young as 9 years old
-These normal porn addictions can lead to illegal addictions such as child porn.
-One man started sexualizing his 16 year old daughter and her freinds after viewing cyberporn
-Some addictions impede teen boys from having normal relationships with girls
-Some addicts become woman abusers and rapists due to their distorted view of how women should act
-Countless marriages have been broken up due to these problems
-One woman who found out her husband was an addict, committed suicide because she felt she was not attractive enough to satisfy her husband
And so on and so forth. Anyways, my point is, this type of thing is disgusting, and should not be happening. Not only is it terrible for younger children, but honestly, talk to almost any girl, and she'll tell you that things like porn lower their self esteem. It said right in the news segment, one man admitted that real women would NEVER compare to the girls on the internet, for many various reasons. Some people argue (even my own Boyfriend sadly enough), that porn can be used for good, to relieve tension or whatever. In MY OWN OPINION (so don't hurt me), I believe that it's possible to "relieve" oneself without the use of porn, and without degrading women everywhere. I'm terribly sorry for ranting, but this is yet another issue I feel strongly about. For all you "open" people out there who say you wouldn't mind if the better half in your life used porn, just think of it this way. The person you love to death, is looking at SOMEONE ELSE, and getting off in ways that they will never even try to experience with you. I know it hurts me unimaginably to even think about something like that. But you know, maybe that's just me.
