Something I wrote in french class today...I'm getting frustrated with some of my friends....

My Statement

I Adeline Palm, am making this statement here and now to explain myself once and for all.

I admit that I used to listen to punk. I never actually enjoyed it, that's just what my friends listened to, and I was never exposed to anything else. When I was introduced to something new (emocore/hardcore), I immediatly took a liking to it, and therefor, stopped listening to punk.

My second point: My view on punk. My opinion is that punk has it's place in the world of music, just as every other kind of music does. I however do not enjoy punk for many reasons. I will however be polite and allow people to listen to what they like, and will not insult it. However, if someone attempts to force the music upon me, I will express my disinterest. If someone insults the music I like, I will not sit there and be insulted. If someone asks me why I do not like punk, I will give my reasons. Mind you, these reasons are simply my own personal opinion, you may believe whatever you like.

I understand that I may have insulted other types of music in the past, but only in defence since it angers me when my music is insulted. I also angers me when some people do not even know the true definition of some types of music, and yet continue to insult other music. I will also not put up with any stereotypes refering to "emo kids" and so forth. I don't stereotype punks, many of my friends are punks, I would like the same respect.

This statement is not to make anyone mad. Simply to just express my sentiments. I wish everyone could just respect each others music, as I believe that having music that makes YOU happy, is (almost) the most important thing in life.
